Just as all fellow people in the veterinary field, we wish the best for our pets and their families and strive to provide quality and progressive care in a compassionate and courteous manner.
We go through each day as though the eyes of our peers and clients are constantly watching and as if animals could speak.
Ecohealth is Important to us.
Our goal is to minimize the negative impact the existence of the hospital could have on the environment and ecosystem, since how we change the ecosystem can affect the health of all living beings.
Dr. Michiko Gehrig - Veterinarian
Growing up in the last house on a dirt road that led to infinity in the middle of "nowhere" New Brunswick, taking care of orphaned mice, birds and baby salamanders, mistaking a coyote for the family dog, and helping on the family hobby farm, Michiko knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 8 years old. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of New Brunswick in 1999, she attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown PEI and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She has practiced in general practice and emergency clinics in New Brunswick, Ontario and British Columbia and was humbled and delighted to open the doors of Kannon Animal Hospital in September 2012.
Welcome!
Kannon comes from Buddhist ideology and has many faces, but the name was chosen with neutrality, for the following meaning; the protection of animals and the dedication to making their lives happier.
